About The Game
Welcome to the thrilling world of "New York Bastards"!
Here four social groups - the Underdogs, the Irish, the Italians, and the Rich - battle for power and wealth in the city of endless opportunities, New York. In this asymmetric board game, each player takes on the role of one of these groups, striving to accumulate 15 points by building businesses and utilizing their hero's abilities.
The Game Components
Groups, Heroes, Businesses
Key Features: Choose your group: Underdogs, Irish, Italians, or the Rich, each with their unique advantages and limitations. Manage your business empire: Utilize your deck of cards, including businesses, heroes, and starting businesses, to gain wealth and power. Make Critical Decisions: Every turn offers five different actions, such as building businesses, engaging in gambling, battling opponents, and more. Carefully plan your moves. Beware of External Factors: The Kingpin has his eye on you and may impose protection money on your business. Events steer the game's flow, providing unexpected challenges and opportunities.
Events
There are 12 events, symbolizing the months of the year. Each event is unique, valid for every player and cannot be stopped or changed except with the special abilities of some players.
Skills
Skills help in developing your business and give bonuses in different situations. They are separated in two groups - basic and advanced, and can be of two different types - One-time skills and Permanent ones.
The Kingpin
He is the boss of the New York mafia and keeps a close eye on what's going on in the city. In the beginning he is not feeling threatened by these 'bastards', but with every new built Business he starts to pay more and more attention.
