After this period of initial glamor, the "Great Depression" struck in the 1930s when the US economy collapsed, unemployment soared, and social inequalities became acute. This period sets the stage for "New York Bastards," where players compete for power and wealth in the context of challenging economic conditions and social tensions.
About the game
Welcome to the thrilling world of “New York Bastards,” where four social groups – the Underdogs, the Irish, the Italians, and the Rich – battle for power and wealth in the city of endless opportunities, New York. In this asymmetric board game, each player takes on the role of one of these groups, striving to accumulate 15 points by building businesses and utilizing their hero’s abilities.
Key Features:
1. Choose your group: Underdogs, Irish, Italians, or the Rich, each with their unique advantages and limitations.
2. Manage your business empire: Utilize your deck of cards, including businesses, heroes, and starting businesses, to gain wealth and power.
3. Make Critical Decisions: Every turn offers five different actions, such as building businesses, engaging in gambling, battling opponents, and more.
4. Carefully plan your moves. Beware of External Factors: The Kingpin has his eye on you and may impose protection money on your business. Events steer the game’s flow, providing unexpected challenges and opportunities.
